AI Sailing Data and Grapevine Talk
This week at A-CX, Mikko Peltola is speaking in Grapevine, Texas, on what AI is worth building, and Ilpo and Peter have been writing about what a week of racing data revealed aboard a 1976 Swan 47.
Grapevine AI Evening
This week A-CX will be at “AI Is Not Built for You. Yet.”, a Finnish American Chamber of Commerce North Texas evening at Rock & Brews in Grapevine, Texas, on Monday, October 5 from 6:00 pm CT. Mikko leads a short talk on what AI is worth building for your business, followed by Q&A and networking. If you are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, see the event details and bring him the workflow your current AI tools miss.
Sailing Data Analysis
Ilpo and Peter have been writing about what a Raspberry Pi logging instrument data aboard Typon, a 1976 Swan 47, revealed during the 2026 Rolex Big Boat Series. Once they corrected for instrument drift, the data showed the crew sailing at 85 to 97 percent of target upwind depending on the wind, a few degrees wider than the boat’s certificate wants. Check it out here.
Agentic AI Development
We have been hard at work on our Agentic AI Development page, which sets out how A-CX delivers software with AI agents: a Brief and Spec written with the client, then Plan, Code, and Review, with a person approving every gate. Anything an agent writes is reviewed, tested, and held to the same standard as code written by hand. Read the page and see how that process would fit your next project.
Model Promotion Checks
This week our development team would like to highlight work done on the safeguards around training machine learning models, so a newly trained model only replaces the current one when it does measurably better on the same evaluation data. A model that scores well on its own is not proof of improvement, and comparing old and new on identical data is what keeps a retrain from quietly making things worse. It is worth asking what decides when a new model goes live in your own systems, and getting in touch if you would like a second pair of eyes on that decision.
Thoughts And Technology
Ville shared some thoughts about the Google demo room at Mix Presents Sound for Film & TV on September 26, where Eclipsa Audio drew a crowd of sound pros. A-CX has been building the format’s free plugins for the major audio editors with Google, so read Ville’s post and try the plugins yourself.
Mikko shared some thoughts about AI-native delivery in a new interview with Ville, arguing that coding is gone but judgment stays. Watch the interview for the one question he says every software buyer should ask a vendor.
What We've Been Reading
Always-on agents are moving into everyday enterprise tools, as shown in this announcement post by OpenAI introducing Dots, agents that run on their own cloud computer and learn your preferences over time.
